Scattering of fast particles by Coulomb and short-range potentials

A study is made of thescattering of fast particles by a potential that consists of a sum of a Coulomb potential and a short-range potential. Expressions are obtained for the amplitudes of scattering through small and large angles and the Bethe interference formula is derived.
