On the relationship between the translationally invariant shell model and the $K$-harmonics method

A study is made of the relationship between the translationally invariant shell model and the $K$-harmonics method. This makes it possible to exploit the apparatus developed in the former method for the construction of $K$ harmonics with arbitrary $K$.
