Abstract:
Expressions are obtained for the canonical and metric energy-momentum
tensors of the vector field of intermediate bosons in an external
electromagnetic field. It is shown that in the case of a gyromagnetic
ratio not equal to unity the energy-momentum tensor cannot be
symmetrized on its indices, and an additional term proportional to the
anomalous magnetic moment appears in the conservation laws. A modification of the canonical formalism for scalar and vector fields in
an external field is proposed in accordance with which the Hamiltonian
density is equal to the 00 component of the energy-momentum tensor.
An expression for the energy-momentum tensor of a closed system
containing a gauge field of intermediate bosons and an electromagnetic
field is obtained.
