Low-temperature anomalies of the properties of amorphous systems and alloys

A. V. Vedyaev, V. E. Egorushkin, N. V. Mel'nikova

Abstract: A microscopic theory of transport phenomena in metallic amorphous systems and alloys is constructed in the framework of the Green's function method using a diagram technique that makes it possible to take into account multiple scattering of electrons by dynamical concentration excitations of short-range order type. The low-temperature anomalies of the resistivity and specific heat, the concentration dependence of the resistivity, and also the minimum of the electron density of states at the Fermi level, all of which are observed experimentally in disordered systems, are explained. If the concentration of one of the components of an alloy or a metallic glass is low, the theory gives the results of the theory of scattering by impurities.
