The Lamb shift and nonlinear electrodynamics

Abstract:
The author shows that the discrepancy between theory and experiment in the Lamb shift can be attributed to nonlinearity in the equations of electrodynamics, with a characteristic length of
$l_0\simeq10^{-14}$
cm.
