Theory of spin glasses based on the principle of stationarity of the free energy infinite-range model

M. I. Vladimir, L. A. Dogotar', V. A. Moskalenko

Abstract: Analytic expressions are obtained for the thermodynamic quantities of the Ising model with infinite-range interaction under the assumption that there exists a large number of local minima in the system. It is assumed that they participate in the configuration averaging with equal weight (“white average”). The behavior of the thermodynamic quantities is investigated in the limiting cases of temperatures near the critical temperature of the transition to the spin glass phase and temperatures near zero. It is shown that in the low-temperature region the entropy is positive, and this eliminates the difficulty associated with its analytic calculation.
