Abstract:
For the description of the electron and thermodynamic properties of adsorption films a new model is proposed by generalizing the Anderson–Ising–Hubbard Hamiltonians. The single-particle Green's functions are calculated for an adsorbent-adsorbate electron subsystem. A solution that leads to stationary surface bound states for the substrate electrons is found. The mean energy of the system of the adsorbent and adsorbate is expressed in terms of the spectral intensities of the calculated Green's functions.
