Abstract:
The problem of vector and axial-vector dominance in weak interactions of mesons in a quark model of superconducting type is discussed. Formulas are obtained that take into account the breaking of $\rho-a_1$ universality, which is restored in the limit of exact fulfillment of the model mass formulas. The results are illustrated by concrete calculations of the
$\tau\to\nu_\tau\rho$ and $\tau\to\nu_\tau a_1$ decay widths.
