Degenerate bi-Hamiltonian structures of the hydrodynamic type

Abstract: Degenerate bi-Hamiltonian Poisson brackets of the hydrodynamic type are studied. They are bi-Hamiltonian structures of certain dispersionless rational Lax equations and are related to the notion of a degenerate Frobenius manifold.
