Abstract: We consider electrodynamics with an additional Chern–Simons-type action (the Carroll–Field–Jackiw electrodynamics) in a semispace. We investigate the transmission of photons and massive vector particles through the interface between this medium and the vacuum, where the standard Maxwell electrodynamics operates. We discover the effect of reflection from the interface up to total reflection for Chern–Simons particles escaping to the vacuum and for vector particles incident on the interface from the vacuum.

Keywords: spatial parity violation, Maxwell–Chern–Simons electrodynamics, boundary effect.
