Confinement of color states in a stochastic vacuum of quantum chromodynamics

Abstract: We show that in the framework of the stochastic vacuum model of quantum chromodynamics, quark confinement can be described as the decoherence of a color state of a particle into a mixed quantum state with equal probabilities for different colors. We evaluate the quantum characteristics of one-particle and multiparticle states: purity, fidelity, and the von Neumann entropy.
