Saint-Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of Russian academy of sciences: 35 years of sustainable development.

The history of creation and formation of the St. Petersburg institute of informatics and automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences as lead scientific institution of the Russian Federation in the field of society informatization is presented in this article. The main scientific and technically scientific projects of institute are described in the historical prospect. The current state of institute is analyzed; the directions of basic and applied scientific and technically scientific researches, of corporate cooperation in the field of introduction and development of technologies at the international and internal level are allocated. Vigorous scientific and educational activity of staff of the institute, including both lecturing in St. Petersburg’s Universities, and creation of basic departments in scientific and educational centers is noted.
