Abstract:
A massive drop calorimeter with an isothermal shell was used to measure the enthalpy increment of the intermetallic compound $\rm RbBi_2$ in solid and liquid states in the temperature range of $432$–$1176$ K. Approximating equations are obtained, and the isobaric heat capacity and enthalpy change on melting are determined. The estimated errors of the data on enthalpy and heat capacity were $0.4\%$ and $1.0\%$, respectively. The enthalpy of alloy formation in the liquid state is determined. The obtained data are compared with the results of the calculations according to the law of ideal solutions.
