Selection of the inertia of the particles used for the optical diagnostics of high-velocity gas flows

Abstract: The selection of the inertial parameters (density, size) of tracer particles used for the diagnostics of high-speed gas flows is considered. A relation has been obtained from an analysis to find the velocity of tracer particles under the assumption that the aerodynamic drag coefficient of the particles is equal to unity. Estimates of the times and lengths of the acceleration of particles with different inertia in a gas flow moving at a constant speed are made.
