Abstract:
The liquid–gas transition line for bismuth was calculated using numerical simulation, based on the similarity laws related to the unit compressibility factor line. To do this, we used the previously proposed model, which was successfully tested for substances with known binodals. This model takes into account the general asymptotic properties of the binodal following from the theory of scaling and the laws of similarity. The coordinates of the critical point are estimated, which lead to a relatively large value of the compressibility factor. It is in agreement with one of the previously known estimates and corresponds to the value for mercury.
