Destruction of coherent structures in the DC excited stratified gas discharge plasma in a synergetic model

Abstract: It is shown that the situation in which turbulence occurs in direct current excited gas discharge and a critical length emerges in the initially stratified discharge plasma is connected with destruction of the spatial coherence of local plasma states. The behavior of such plasma system can be understood by using the reaction-diffusion electron multiplication mechanism, which describes ionization-recombination equilibrium, and modern ideas about ambipolar diffusion.
