Abstract: The results are given and discussed of experimental investigations of the electrical (voltage and current of inductance coil, loss of power in a ferrite magnetic circuit) and photometric (light flux and light output) characteristics of a $200$$500$-W transformer-type inductive fluorescent light source operated at frequency $f = 150$$325$ kHz. The high light output $(80$$85$ lm/W$)$ at high power of $300$$400$ W and low frequency of $150$ kHz is attained owing to low loss of power $(4.5$$6.5$ W$)$ in the magnetic circuit and inductance coil.
