Abstract:
The paper deals with photophoresis of a large solid spherical aerosol particle on whose surface a phase transition occurs in the form of evaporation (sublimation) of the particle matter. A formula is derived for the rate of photophoresis, which generalizes the known relation for the rate of photophoresis of a nonvolatile particle. It is demonstrated that the inclusion of the evaporation coefficient may introduce a significant correction to the value of the rate of photophoresis.
