Abstract:
Results are given of numerical simulation of the heating of decomposing polymer-based composite materials in a high-temperature gas flow. Numerical estimates are obtained of the effect of the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the process of decomposition on the calculated values of the minimal required thickness of polymer heat-shielding coatings, determined from the condition of attaining the maximum permissible temperature on the surface of the object being shielded for the preassigned period of time of thermal effect.
