Abstract:
The density of a $\mathrm{UO}_2$–$\mathrm{ZrO}_2$ melt (atomic ratio $\mathrm{U}/\mathrm{Zr}= 1.528$) is experimentally measured by a pycnometric method in the temperature range of $2973$–$3373$ K. The found temperature dependence of density has the form $\rho(T)=(7.0\pm0.01)-(4.5\pm0.4)\times10^{-4}\times(T-2973\mathrm{K})$, g/cm$^3$. The temperature dependence measured enables one to calculate the values of the density of $\mathrm{UO}_2$–$\mathrm{ZrO}_2$ melts depending on the temperature and composition for any atomic ratio $\mathrm{U}/\mathrm{Zr}$.
