Abstract:
The excitation of $^4G^\circ$, $^4H^\circ$ and $^4I^\circ$ levels of vanadium atom in electron-atom collisions is investigated using the methods of extended crossing beams and optical spectroscopy. The total excitation cross sections at the electron energy of $30$ eV are determined for these levels. The maximum values of the cross sections (about $2\times10^{-16}$ cm$^2$) correspond to the $^4F(^1P)x^4G^\circ_J$ levels.
