Abstract:
This article examines the thermodiffusional and photophoretic motion of heterogeneously burning spherical aerosol particles in three-component gas mixtures in which the distributions of the temperatures and concentrations of the chemically active components are nonuniform. A quasisteady approximation is used to solve a linearized system of Stokes and heat- and mass-transfer equations. Expressions are obtained for the rates of thermophoresis, diffusiophoresis, and photophoresis of the heterogeneously burning particles.
