Abstract:
An analysis is made of experimental data on the surface tension of liquid binary systems of alkali metals. The data was obtained in studies conducted previously by the same authors and is used to obtain the distribution of the components among the molecular surface layers within the indicated alloys. To facilitate interpretation, this distribution is compared with the results of an independent Auger experiment. The method of Auger electron spectroscopy was used to study the surface of sodium, potassium, and cesium and surface segregation for five potassium–sodium alloys.
