Abstract:
A unidimensional thermophysical model of the heating of a two-layer system by a nonsteady heat flow is used to study the initial stage of laser alloying – until attainment of the melting point of the substrate. Allowance is made for the nonideal thermal contact between the layers of the system. Results are presented from an experiment involving the alloying of molybdenum coatings with single laser pulses of different energies.
