Abstract:
The characteristics of frame-type magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) channels in the presence of nonuniform distributions of the electrical conductivity and rates of flow in the channel cross section are investigated. A method is developed for solving the electrodynamic problem numerically in parametric form; this facilitates analysis of the electrical characteristics of the channel, once having obtained the solution of a certain elliptic equation. The influence of the plasma parameters on the integrated characteristics of the frame-type channel is considered.
