Abstract:
The formation of the characteristics of a laminar flow of argon plasma at atmospheric pressure is investigated in the channels of an extended stabilized electric arc. Measurements are made of the characteristics of the plasma flow. Special attention is paid to the organization of the experimental conditions. The length obtained for the initial hydrodynamic section in the channel considerably exceeds the length of the thermal section. In the range of flow rates of the gas through the arc under investigation the length of the initial section is directly proportional to the magnitude of the flow rate.
