Heat transfer to liquid metals in regular arrays of fuel elements

Abstract: The possibility of calculating the Nusselt number in arrays of fuel elements by using the universal temperature profile in round tubes is examined. A method of calculating $\rm Nu$, based on the analogy of local heat transfer coefficients in equivalent plane slits, is given. The analysis of theoretical and experimental data leads to a general equation for a wide range of pitches of triangular arrays of fuel elements.
