Calculation of the temperature fields of bundles of fuel elements in axial turbulent flows of heat-transfer media with vanishingly small Prandtl numbers
Abstract:
The article gives a more general solution than that of Nijsing and Eifler to the problem of heat transfer in regular arrays of rod-type fuel elements, with the longitudinal flow of heat-transfer media around the elements at Prandtl number approaching zero. The article proposes a simple approximate solution, based on the use of a model of “piston” flow, and which is in satisfactory agreement with the “exact” solution. The results of the calculations are illustrated by curves.
