Abstract:
Results are given of an experimental investigation of heat transfer from thin platinum wires to emulsions in which the dispersed phase is low-boiling compared to the dispersion medium. The investigations are performed using horizontally and vertically arranged heaters. Also investigated is the effect made on the delay of the beginning of boiling of emulsion by the addition to the dispersed phase of minor amounts of PEG-400 polyethylene glycol and A-175 Aerosil (silica powder) nano-powder.
