Numerical simulation of power-engineering complex with torrefaction reactor

Abstract: The paper presents a mathematical model of power-engineering complex implementing a combined technology of production of power, heat, and solid biofuels, namely, torrefied pellets. Torrefaction of fuel pellets is carried out in a thermochemical reactor by heat from exhaust gases of a gas piston power plant. The results of testing the model by experimental data and the results of calculations of the main characteristics of torrefaction, the mass and energy flows are given. The analysis results of efficiency of the power plant with a build-on thermochemical reactor are reported.
