Abstract:
The thermoelasticity problem for a long hollow cylinder with its inside surface heated by a periodic flow of heat is solved. The outer surface is cooled according to Newton's law; the heat-exchange coefficient and the temperature of the surrounding medium are taken to be constant. The case is considered when the heat-flux power is constant in periodically repeating identical intervals of time and equals zero in the intervening pauses. Heating by periodically repeating trains of such cycles is also considered.
