Abstract:
The article describes a method for investigating temperature fields in the flow of a sodium-potassium melt. It gives temperature profiles along normals to the perimeter of the cell and compares these profiles with an empirical formula proposed by P. L. Kirillov for the temperature profile of liquid metals in round tubes. It is shown that, for approximate calculations of temperature fields in bundles of rod-type fuel elements, use can be made of the hypothesis of the universality of the temperature profiles in the cells of bundles and in round tubes.
