Abstract:
A design is developed for the simulation of boiling at a wall with horizontal plane fins. The mechanism of the inflow of liquid into the interfin gaps is investigated and point heat fluxes are measured. The heat transfer during the boiling of water is investigated for ten different fin configurations, and a generalized dependence is obtained. A procedure is proposed for calculating the heat transfer when water and Freon-$113$ boil at a wall with horizontal plane fins.
