Abstract: The method described was used to determine the correction for the viscosity of the oncoming flow to the readings of a pitot tube probe in a steady laminar plasma flow. The calibration technique is based on extrapolating the probe readings to Reynolds numbers tending to infinity. It is shown that using this method, one may neglect corrections for the disturbance of the flow by the probe and for the shift in the effective center of the probe in a nonuniform plasma flow.
