Abstract:
The evaporation of a single drop of an aqueous solution of potassium carbonate in the combustion products of fuel gases is considered. The drop passes successively through stages involving the initial heating of the water and its evaporation until a saturated solution is formed. Semi-empirical formulas are proposed for determining the resistance and the Nusselt number during the motion of the evaporating drop. The evaporation and melting processes are calculated on the quasi-steady-state approximation.
