Abstract:
The results of testing correlation equations in calculating convective and radiative heating of landers are presented for the examples of Apollo 4 and Stardust, for which we have a great amount of numerical data by other authors. Using these correlation dependences, the analysis of heating of the landing module is performed in the flight experiment Fire-II. With the use of special developed two-dimensional and three-dimensional computer codes NERAT(2D,3D)+ASTEROID, we performed calculations on radiative-gasdynamics at some entry points on the trajectories of the Stardust and Fire-II landers. The correlation dependences and computer codes NERAT(2D,3D)+ASTEROID were used in giving a prognosis of the aerothermodynamics of promising spacecrafts of large size. The reasons for the discrepancy in numerical data are discussed.
