Abstract:
Shadow photographs (laser illumination of nanosecond duration) of expanding hafnium wire are obtained as a result of pulsed experiment $(2.5$$\mu$s$)$ involving the electric heating of hafnium wires. The temperature is measured in foil samples of hafnium in the form of blackbody model. The temperature dependence is obtained of the density of liquid hafnium from the melting point $(2504$ K$)$ to the boiling point $(4875$ K$)$ at atmospheric pressure.
