Abstract: The transition to the digital economy affects almost all spheres of human activity. Digitalization brings a lot of positive things, but it also faces counteractions, with negative consequences, which are connected, first of all, with the social problems of modern society. As the experience of digitalization in other countries shows, the main challenges it faces are not technical, technological problems, but social and methodological ones. Thus, along with the problem of utilization of the released labor resources, perhaps the most significant is the problem of training specialists of the digital formation with new competencies that are not in the list of current Russian Federal State Standards of Education. The challenges associated with the transition to the digital economy are presented in the formation of an innovative block of behavioral competencies of specialists associated with the formation of a person with creative potential, in finding optimal solutions, their implementation and responsibility for the consequences of decision-making. The problems of digitalization affect the efficiency of the digital economy in general and the management of its automated systems in particular. The solution of these problems lies, first of all, on the shoulders of the education system – a critical government infrastructure with a delayed result. Only in the case of an active, full-scale qualitative restructuring of the educational process today, we will be able to get a tangible result in 5-7 years. As one of the outcomes of this article is a list of areas of knowledge and competencies that require modern IT-business from young professionals of the digital economy.

Keywords: digital environment, automated systems, competence of specialists of digitalization, social problems, critical government infrastructure.
