Abstract:
We review and compare the approaches and methodologies of business-process reengineering, and develop the method for telecom business-processes reengineering. The method is based on the technology of ontological engineering. The reference business-processes ontology is created in accordance with a structural framework named “Enhanced Telecom Operations Map”, and also existing business-processes ontology of the telecommunication company is designed. We illustrate the suggested method of business-process reengineering on the example of automated comparison of the reference ontology with the ontology of existing business-processes of a big telecom service provider.
