Abstract: Nowaday energy management is an important subject for intelligent control. The problem is to find a real-time energy sources’ switching strategy, which minimizes wastes and energy cost. We consider an intelligent hybrid energy system (HRES), which optimizes a number of criteria, such as efficiency and energy costs, by switching between energy sources in real-time based on energy consumption and production forecasts. The switching strategy is found with a genetic algorithm. Efficiency of the developed control system as compared to existing energy systems is verified with computer simulation.

Keywords: hybrid, smart grid, renewable energy source, neural network, forecast, optimization, HRES.
