On fixed points of periodic continuous mappings to plane ${\mathbb R}^2$ and sphere $S^{2}$

Abstract: The conditions for the emergence of a fixed point in an idempotent continuous mapping on the plane and, as a consequence, the existence of at least two fixed points for the mappings of this class on the two-dimensional sphere are studied.
