Abstract:
This paper proposes using the concept of temperature from Boltzmann's kinetic theory to characterize transport flow. We derive a formula for the conditional temperature of the transport flow. Experiments are conducted with various initial conditions, including the number of agents (vehicles) and their locations. The results, presented in graphs, display key characteristics of the transport flow: the number of lane-to-lane conversions, the intensity-density relationship, the average speed, and the temperature.
Keywords:temperature, transport flow temperature, microscopic traffic flow model, gas temperature.
