Research on the impact of SPAN technologies on data network performance

Abstract: The paper is devoted to studying network traffic mirroring technologies, specifically SPAN, describing their operating principle and identifying causes of technological limitations. Testing was conducted using a methodology based on RFC 2544 standard to evaluate network device performance. Experimentally determined optimal packet sizes for single-threaded and multi-threaded data transmission were established.
