Optimization of composite beam parameters during vibrations

Abstract: The problem of optimization of an inhomogeneous composite beam with the aim of maximizing its fundamental frequency of free vibrations is considered. The design variable is a function that characterizes the volume fraction of reinforcement inclusions in the composite. The problem is solved by methods of variational calculus.
