Abstract:
The paper proposes a method for determining stress concentrations near non-circular holes in a continuously inhomogeneous infinite plate with stresses specified at the boundary. It is assumed that the plate material has a weak inhomogeneity. The problem is solved by the small parameter method and is reduced to a recurrent sequence of boundary value problems of the homogeneous theory of elasticity. For a given inhomogeneity, expressions are obtained for the stress components and the concentration coefficient in the case of an elliptical hole.
