Abstract:
The paper presents the results of an investigation of electret effect and electric relaxation in polyolefin cable dielectrics modified by ionizing radiation of gas discharge. It is shown that processes of formation of electrets in electric corona discharge can be described in terms of the wave-current model of polarization. The idea about electrically active centers of charge-carrier capture in polyolefin dielectrics allows us to explain the impact of mechanical stress and radiation cross-linking of polyolefins on their polarization in electric corona discharge.
