Abstract: An evaluation of the generation rate of a symmetric encryption key is performed for the case when a meteor radio channel is used for the symmetric encryption key distribution purposes. A general method for the generation of a key sequence and a method for the evaluation of its rate are presented. The basic instrumental and physical factors that limit the key generation rate value are discussed. The main regularities and causes of phase non-reciprocity in a meteor radio channel are studied based on a rigorous solution of the radio wave diffraction problems and computer simulation of meteor radio links of different lengths.

Keywords: symmetric encryption key, distribution of cryptographic keys, meteor radio channel, diffraction of radio waves, non-reciprocity, non-stability, simulation model, entropy, data rate.
