Abstract:
We have measured the RF Mössbauer forward scattering spectra from thick samples of iron borate (FeBO$_3$) below the Neel temperature. The spectra have satellites displaced from each other by the doubled frequency of the RF field. We present a semiclassical model of the Mössbauer radiation transmission through a magnetic absorber subjected to the RF reversals of the hyperfine field at the nuclei. This model reproduces all features of the measured spectra. The experiments and model calculations show additional possibilities of Mössbauer measurements in the forward scattering scheme for research on soft magnetic materials.
