On the propagation of an extremely short electromagnetic pulse in a nonlinear ferroelectric medium

Abstract: We present a theoretical study of an extremely short (one-cycle) electromagnetic pulse propagating in a nonlinear ferroelectric medium for which two equilibrium states are possible. The research is based on solving the system of Maxwell–Duffing equations. Its solutions describe the stationary propagation of the electromagnetic pulse in such medium.
