Abstract: The correct design of impellers and choice of the shape of blades are significantly important during the process of creating turbomachines. The development of methods for profiling hydrodynamic cascades with predetermined properties, as well as for stand-alone profiles, is enabled by the theory of inverse boundary value problems of aerohydrodynamics. In this paper, potential application of the inverse problem to profiling of the impeller blades for different purposes is shown based on various examples.

Keywords: inverse boundary value problem of aerohydrodynamics, turbomachines, blade elements.
